Regions

Barbados is surrounded by white sandy beaches that are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkelling. Those looking for a bit of sun, sea, sand, and luxury should head to the southern and western coasts where there are fabulous resorts that rest on the white and pink sands and overlook the sea.

Adventure sports enthusiasts on Barbados holidays head to the rugged eastern coast to take advantage of the wind and waves that offer great opportunities for surfing, wind surfing, hiking, and diving. This is also a very scenic area of the island.
Barbados is also an excellent place for shopping, as there are many duty-free shops that sell everything from jewellery, clothing, leather, and rum. The capital city of Bridgetown is the most popular destination for shoppers.

Night owls will not want to miss a trip to the St. Lawrence Gap on the southern coast. This 1.5 kilometre strip along the beach is home to plenty of bars that feature live calypso and reggae acts, stylish restaurants serving up fresh seafood and rum cocktails, and lively nightclubs.
