Holidays to GOA

Introduction

With stunning white sand beaches, glittering blue waters, a mix of Indian and Portuguese architecture, food, and culture, and a laid-back atmosphere, it is easy to see why people are drawn to Goa. Here you can make your holiday whatever you want it to be, with lazy days on the sands, wild nights at the clubs, or time spent prowling the markets for the unbelievable bargains. No matter what your travelling style, Goa is sure to impress.

What to see and do on a Holiday to Goa

It is impossible to come on a holiday to Goa and not spend time on the beautiful beaches here. With over 70 kilometres of coastline, travellers have many stretches of sand to choose from. Calangute Beach is where you will find all the action, GOA Holidays
with plenty of watersports on offer and lively restaurants and bars. For a more peaceful day next to the sea, head to Ashvem Beach, with its low-key beach huts and rocky headlands. Anjuna Beach is also an interesting place to visit for its colourful tourist markets.

Shopping is another major draw to Goa. Visit the bazaars here to find amazing deals on furniture, jewellery, ceramics, clothing and antiques. There are also many stylish boutiques, art galleries, and book stores in the villages that span the coast. For fresh fruits and vegetables and tasty local treats, head to the Friday market in Mapusa, when villagers from far and wide gather to sell their produce and speciality goods.

If it’s dining and nightlife you are after, Goa will not disappoint. Here you will find many restaurants and bars that sell delicious Indian cuisine with a Portuguese twist. Seafood is central to many of the dishes here, and visitors should not leave without trying an aromatic fish curry, a spicy vindaloo, or a glass of feni, the potent local fire water made from cashew apples or coconuts. For all-night parties in the clubs and on the beach, Calangute and Anjuna are the places to be. Anjuna is particularly popular for its epic trance parties.
