Holidays to Krabi

Introduction

For natural beauty and intriguing sights, it doesn’t get much better than Krabi in southern Thailand. Krabi is located on the shores of the Andaman Sea, and a great base for exploring limestone rocks, waterfalls, rainforests, pristine white sand beaches, and interesting temples. With so many attractions to choose from, this is the ideal holiday destination for families, couples, groups, and singles alike.

What to see and do on a Holiday to Krabi

Travellers on a holiday to Krabi are never far from a gorgeous beach. Just a short drive away, Ao Nang offers a wide swathe of golden sand where you can work on your tan, swim in the calm turquoise waters, or snorkel at the base of dramatic cliffs that jut out of the sea. Railay is another popular beach for its clean white sands and rugged cliffs covered in dense vegetation. This is also a haven for rock climbers, as there are a number of rock climbing schools here, as well as challenging cliffs for climbers of all abilities.

Krabi Holidays

For a bit of serenity and amazing views of the countryside, head to the Tiger Cave Temple. This peaceful Buddhist meditation centre rests on top of a tall limestone formation, and can only be reached by climbing over 1,200 stairs carved into the rock. The trip up is very scenic, as there are massive trees that shade the path, and many caves where archaeologists have found the remains of ancient civilisations. Inside the main cave there are imprints in the rock that look like tiger paw prints.

Visitors on a holiday to Krabi will also find plenty of opportunities to try tasty southern Thai cuisine here. For an authentic Thai food experience, the Krabi night market is not to be missed. Here you can choose from fiery papaya salads, savoury meatballs on skewers, aromatic roast chicken, and rich curries with vegetables, meat, and crunchy peanuts. Then of course, there is the all-time favourite Thai dish of pad Thai, thin rice noodles tossed with chicken, egg, bean sprouts, peanuts, and a tangy tamarind sauce.
