Holidays to The UAE

The United Arab Emirates are quickly becoming top travel destinations for their appealing mix of modern amenities and stunning natural scenery. A flight from London to Dubai is between 6 and 7 hours, and the time difference in the UAE is 3 hours ahead of GMT. The currency used in all of the emirates is the Emirati dirham.

A Beach in Dubai

Dubai is by far the most popular emirate for UAE holidays. This is an excellent destination for families, as there are many things to see and do for people of all ages here. Visitors on Dubai holidays can look out over the city and the gulf from the world’s only 7 star hotel (pictured right), the luxurious sailboat-shaped Burj al Arab, cool off on hot days at the Wild Wadi water park, or go shopping at one of the many modern shopping malls and souks. In addition, Dubai offers many stylish and inviting restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

Abu Dhabi is next on the list when it comes to favorite UAE holidays. Adventurous types should not miss a desert safari trip where you can ride camels across the sands, visit an ancient oasis, or tear around the dunes in a 4×4 vehicle. There are also plenty of gorgeous white sand beaches along the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Ajman is one of the UAE’s best kept secrets for budget travellers. This small emirate offers laid-back beaches, warm waters, fresh seafood, and affordable accommodation for all budgets. In addition, Ajman is just a 20-minute drive from Dubai, making it an easy place to escape to for a few days.

The weather in the United Arab Emirates is similar to most Middle Eastern countries: hot and dry. The region sees little rain, and it is sunny on most days. The best time to visit is between October and March when the average temperature hovers around 25 degrees Celsius, and the humidity is not so high.

Cost of visiting UAE

Travellers who take UAE holidays may find that the prices are a bit high when compared to other countries. That being said, goods and services in the UAE are usually of a very high quality. The following are some standard prices in the UAE:

Item Price
Loaf of Bread £0.92
Bottle of Water £0.25
Pint of Beer £5.33
Bottle of Wine £12.75
